On The Journey Towards a Home

Program Overview:  To some people, homelessness is a way of life. They know where to go to get a shower, a meal - even a pair of socks. While the Place of Hope does provide basic services to people who are homeless, it also strives to forge deeper relationships and address the reasons behind homelessness. Deeper relationships take time and trust.

The Place of Hope addresses core problems leading to homelessness, such as unemployment, poor health, substance abuse, mental illness and/or lack of education. By establishing relationships with participants, showing interest in, and understanding of, their situation and partnering with other agencies in the community, the Place of Hope can help individuals get off the streets and into a home.

How it Works:  Walk-ins may receive basic services such as showers, restrooms, laundry services, lockers, telephone access and assistance obtaining identification documents.  For interested participants, we offer an advanced level of intense case management: securing treatment for substance abuse or mental health issues, securing long-term housing, obtaining legal services and more.  Should it be necessary, we will also work with main partner agencies to ensure participants receive the best possible services for their individual needs.  Case management is available by appointment.

For Participants: Participants can receive basic services such as showers, restrooms, laundry services, lockers, telephone access and assistance with identification documents during Basic Service Hours.  Case Management is by appointment only.

Support Opportunities:
The Place of Hope has a number of areas where the community can get involved.  Below, please find a short list of needed support.  For a full list of opportunities, please click to view our Volunteer and Donation pages.
