Churches, church groups, and congregation members
of all denominations are important and integral to
the programs and services of United Ministries.
Church representatives participate in many roles as
Board Members for the organization, committee
members, program volunteers, donors, advisors, and
advocates on behalf of our participants. We invite
you and your church to join our family of
contributing congregations by making a monetary
donation, donating food, or donating toiletries or
other tangible items.
Here are some ways in which churches and
congregation members have supported United
Ministries in the past:
Several churches hold collection drives for food,
toiletries or school supplies needed to operate our
programs. Some of those churches also send us
financial contributions on a monthly or quarterly
basis as an extension of their missions ministries.
Supporting churches such as Aldersgate United
Methodist Church, Christ Church, Eastminster
Presbyterian Church, First Baptist Church, Greenville and
Fourth Presbyterian Church provide and underwrite
the expenses for college students to perform summer
internships in our programs.
Over the years, our annual Community Worship has
been hosted by Springfield Baptist Church, Buncombe
Street United Methodist Church, St. George Greek
Orthodox Church, and Allen Temple AME Church.
Buncombe Street United Methodist Church has been the host site of our recent graduation ceremonies.
Westminster Presbyterian Church helped fund the
purchase of our Learning Center at 503 Vardry
Street.
If you would like United Ministries to make a
presentation to a group in your church with more
details about our needs, please call Keith Trout at
864.232.6463 to make arrangements.
