A Word from Our Director

I am honored to be the Executive Director of United Ministries, a truly remarkable organization. For over 40 years, United Ministries has been working to understand and address poverty issues in Greenville County.  We are a faith-based organization and accomplish our work through a dedicated 20-person staff and incredible team of volunteers.

One of the most important things we’ve learned over the years is that helping people find solutions to poverty depends first on building relationships.  To that point, I hope that your visit to our website will be the beginning of a new and fulfilling relationship with United Ministries.

Some of the work we do at United Ministries includes:

  • Work the homeless men and women to meet basic human needs with the goal of getting them on the right track for long-term housing;
  • Provide financial assistance to help people pay their rent or utilities so they can continue to be housed and stable; sometimes, it’s as simple as a providing a bag of groceries to get someone back on their feet;
  • Offer adult education for people working toward their GED;
  • Help people obtain jobs; and
  • Educate communities about the needs and realities of people living in poverty.

Browse our website and find ways to volunteer, donate, contact us, stay connected or educate yourself on poverty and related issues.

We are located at 606 Pendleton Street with our Learning Center on the corner of Vardry and Anderson Streets.  We invite you to call 864-232-6463 with any questions or to schedule a visit.

We look forward to getting to know you and to have you know us better.

Blessings,

Keith Trout
Executive Director
